Brazilian Zouk

Birthed in early 1990s in Brazil, with roots in Lambada, this partner dance has musical influence from Zouk, which is what differentiates this style of dance from Lambada. Over time, other styles of music has been incorporated into Brazilian Zouk, transforming it into the dance style that it is today

Lambada

Lambada can be considered the forefather of Brazilian Zouk. Once dubbed the forbidden dance, because of the sensual nature of the dance itself, it has grown in popularity internationally, and has adopted influences from other dances such as Salsa.

West Coast Swing

West Coast Swing originated in the west coast of USA, hence the name, with roots in Lindy Hop. West Coast Swing gained popularity in the 1940s due to rise the swing jazz music genre. Fun fact, West Coast Swing was even pronounced the Official State Dance of California in 1988! West Coast Swing is also one of the few dances that emphasizes of improvisation, making it dynamic and keeping dancers on their toes (literally and figuratively).
