Hajime's Story

The idea of Hajime was born out of the desire to bring together the social dancing community in Japan. Founded by Joanna, who first discovered her deep love of dancing through Hustle, before exploring other dances like Brazilian Zouk, Lambada and West Coast Swing, she has developed a strong passion for wanting to share the joy that dancing has brought to her life. What started out as a pipe dream to expand and unite the dance scene has now become reality through Hajime Dance Japan.

 

At Hajime, the idea is for anyone, young or old, new or seasoned dancers, to be able to come together in a space and share their passion and creativity with each other. By fostering a strong collaborative spirit, and the power of a strong community, Hajime believes that the dance scene can only get stronger and more vibrant in Japan.
